“Sadly, this incredible book sat dormant on my bookshelves for way too long, but I just finished reading 94 Maidens and was so moved by it. It was one of the saddest stories I have ever read, and it breaks my heart that it is the author’s mother’s personal story and, of course, thereby her family’s story too. My husband and I are traveling to Eastern Europe in October 2027 and I will certainly look at the sites we visit through a totally different lens after reading the author’s deep and meaningful words. I enjoyed how it was written through three separate POVs that were woven together. The author is an excellent writer and she gripped my heart and made me cry for the many senseless lives lost and destroyed at the horrific hands of the Nazis. This book is one that should be read by everyone, especially in our hate-filled world of today. Many thanks to Rhonda Fink-Whitman for writing and sharing your story.
